The white nettle is a perennial plant that grows up to 50 cm (1 foot 8 inches) tall. It commonly inhabits areas with disturbed soil, such as rubble, abandoned parks, gardens, and along walls, fences and ditches, preferring nitrogen-rich soil. The stem is square in cross-section, and its leaves are arranged in a decussate pattern, with each pair rotated 90° from the previous. The plant produces zygomorphic flowers with five sepals and a bilabiate (two-lipped) white corolla, containing four stamens. The fruit consists of four small black nutlets. The flowers generate a significant amount of nectar, which can be collected by bees and transformed into honey. ## Keywords plantae angiosperms eudicots lamiales lamiaceae lamium album
