Description

Cauliflower is a vegetable composed of a fleshy inflorescence and has been cultivated since ancient Roman times. It is an annual plant developed from *Brassica oleracea* in the Brassicaceae family, similar to cabbage and broccoli. Cauliflower is typically white, though orange and purple varieties also exist, with the latter containing a gene that enhances anthocyanin production. The green variety, known as Romanesco, has a unique fractal-like appearance. Nutritionally, cauliflower is rich in folic acid and vitamin C. ## Keywords Plant flowering plants eudicots cruciferous plants Brassicaceae brassicas
