The common daisy is a perennial plant in the Asteraceae family, typically found in grassy areas, pastures and meadows. It grows to a height of 5–10 cm (2–4 inches), with spoon-shaped leaves forming a rosette near the ground. Young leaves are edible and can be used in salads. The flower heads, or inflorescences, grow singly on stems. The outer white ray flowers are sterile, while the inner yellow disc flowers are hermaphroditic. There are cultivars of the common daisy with larger flower heads in a range of colors, including white, pink and red. ## Keywords angiosperms plants eudicots Asterales Asteraceae daisy
