Trench Communication: Fullerphone Trench.S British

by ClassVR

Description

The Fullerphone, a piece of WW1 and WW2 communication equipment, was a portable Morse telegraph designed to facilitate secure messaging between soldiers in the trenches and their command units. Developed in 1915 by Captain A.C. Fuller of the Royal Engineers, the Fullerphone was crucial for maintaining secrecy, as its signals were immune to interception or eavesdropping. It could operate over long distances, even alongside regular telephone lines, without causing interference. This unique device was integral for coordinating military operations on the Western Front, ensuring vital communications remained clear and secure. Fullerphones were used by Britain and its allies for the rest of the First World War and into the Second World War.
