Mosasaurs are an extinct group of aquatic lizards that lived in the Cretaceous period around 66 million years ago. They were apex predators and had powerful tails and sharp teeth that were perfect for catching prey.
Scientists believe that because of their sharp teeth, mosasaurs were carnivores and probably had a varied diet of marine animals, including sea turtles, plesiosaurs, fish, and even smaller versions of their own kind.
