Description

The KS1 Bitesize profile is a collection of activities taken from the BBC Bitesize website that are appropriate for supporting teaching in Literacy, Maths and Science at Key Stage 1.

The literacy category includes sentence structure, punctuation and world level activities. Children can rehearse skills including spelling, phonics, alphabetical order, pronouns, connectives (joining words), synonyms, sentence structure and punctuation.

The maths category includes activities related to calculating, the number system, handling data, shape and space, measures; and using and applying. Children can find out about length and weight, addition and subtraction, times tables, division, ordering and sequences, place value, money, time, shapes, collecting data and bar charts.

The science category includes activities linked to life processes and living things, materials and their properties, and physical properties. Children think about how to identify living things, health and growth, variation, types of plants and animals, the properties of materials and how they change; electricity, rocks, light and sound.
