3.1.3 Text and Media Literacy - Through varied and diverse use of authentic, child-friendly texts, students can explore and understand both the wording and the key plot elements. Support in the form of nonverbal and verbal semanticization techniques, such as situational embedding and text-accompanying demonstrations and visualizations, is useful here. Analog and (where available) digital media, such as picture books, graphic novels, comics, learning apps, or videos, can be attributed a motivating effect. Students can also discuss the extracted messages with others in communicative exchanges.
